Postdoc Associate

Job Description


A Postdoctoral Associate position is immediately available in Prof. Weihang Chai lab at the Department of Cancer Biology, Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. We are seeking motivated postdoctoral researcher to conduct original research using human cell lines and mice to study the role of genome instability and replication stress in carcinogenesis, and how to target genome maintenance to improve cancer treatment. We are a highly interactive team using integrated genomics, molecular/cell biology, and in vivo approaches to advance targeted cancer therapy.

The Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine is conveniently located at Maywood, IL, a safe and multi-cultural area that is 16 min west of Chicago downtown. It is close to western suburbs of Chicago that offer several nationally recognized school districts and friendly environment for raising families as well as reasonable cost of living. Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine offers a highly collaborative scientific environment. Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments.

Successful candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in a discipline related to the molecular and cellular cancer research. Applicants should have strong skills in molecular and cell biology, excellent communication skills, both orally and written, and a solid publication record. Experience with animal handling is preferred but not required.
