Training research Fellowship: Innate responses to vaccine adjuvants and study of COVID-19 pathogenesis

A research fellowship position (Postdoctoral) is available in the laboratory of Hana Golding, PhD, Chief, Lab of Retrovirus Research, Division of Viral Products, CBER, FDA at the White Oak Campus in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Position Description

• Projects include study of innate responses to viral infections (including SARS CoV-2) and adjuvanted vaccines with a focus on mode of action and safety of novel adjuvants and delivery systems. In vitro assays utilize primary human cells including monocytes, macrophages, and bronchial epithelial cells. Candidates will be trained in multiple methodologies including flow cytometry, energy-transfer signaling, and molecular biology techniques to identify critical pathways responsible for inflammatory signaling including cytokines and prostaglandin 2 (PGE2) production.  
• Our laboratory provides a dynamic and vibrant community where fellows investigate immune response to several respiratory pathogens and study various aspects of immune response to vaccines. A highly collaborative biomedical research environment prioritizes mentoring and training and provides with opportunity to lead their own projects, present their research internally and externally, and publish in top scientific journals.

Qualifications:

• Highly motivated candidates should be within 3 years of their PhD degree. Candidates with research experience in biochemistry, cell biology, and protein chemistry are encouraged to apply.

 Eligibility

·       This position is only open for individuals residing in US for at least 3 years in past 5 years on a valid US visa, permanent residents (Green card) or American citizens.
