JOB SUMMARY:

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy.  Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

The Automotive adjunct faculty member must be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate knowledge of specific technical skills in automotive technology in both a lab and classroom environment to a diverse student population. The successful candidate will be able to adjust instructional technique as required by student’s learning style while maintaining a positive learning environment. Must have the ability to collaborate with learners and peers in order to establish a positive and collaborative learning environment along with providing a safe, operational and positive learning environment for our students and fellow faculty members. Must be willing to teach day or evening classes in multiple LCC automotive locations. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Portions of some courses may be online/virtual. Labs will be face to face.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

ASE certification in G1, A6.

ASE certification in A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A7, and A8 based on assigned courses.

All instructors must attend a minimum of 20 hours per year of recognized update (NATEF) training relevant to their program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

MAST instructors teaching Engine Performance courses must also be ASE Certified in L1-Advanced Engine Performance.

Associate’s Degree in related field plus 5+ years of relevant automotive technician experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree plus 3+ years of relevant automotive technician experience.

Recent automotive experience in an educational or automotive service setting.
