Job Description


The Position

The Genentech Clinical Imaging Group (CIG) advances imaging science to improve decision-making in drug development. Specifically,  we enable the use of novel quantitative clinical imaging methods and implement existing imaging methods in Genentech Research and Early Development in Oncology and OMNI - Ophthalmology, Metabolism, Neurosciences, Immunology and Infectious Diseases, to facilitate the clinical translation of novel therapeutic interventions.

The Genentech CIG is looking for an individual for a full-time postdoctoral fellowship. This postdoc will focus on:

  • The development of standardized and harmonized quantification methods for multi-tracer Tau PET data.

  • Exploring novel  imaging analytical approaches to maximize the value of Tau PET as an endpoint and/or patient selection tool for clinical trials, as well as enable bridging to other tools for the evaluation of Alzheimer’s disease. 

  • Managing/overseeing image data curation and annotation.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or Physics or related disciplines. Strong analytical, quantitative and programming skills as well as experience analyzing MRI and PET brain images is essential. The candidate should be highly motivated, driven to learn independently, and also be comfortable with working in multi-disciplinary and collaborative teams. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and proficiency processing and analyzing MRI and PET brain images required.

  • Proficiency in Freesurfer, SPM and other image processing programs

  • Competence running statistical analyses.

  • Proficiency coding in Bash, MATLAB, Python, or R.

  • Ability to solve research problems independently.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, and experience working in multidisciplinary teams

  • Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
