Job Description

THE POSITION

Compton Community College District is seeking an innovative individual whose focus is student learning for part-time position teaching Sociology courses. Assignments may include teaching courses during day and evening hours including weekends.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in sociology; OR Bachelor's degree in sociology; AND Master's degree in anthropology, any ethnic studies, social work, or psychology; OR

The equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above, must complete the supplemental page of the district application and explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above; OR

Valid California Community College Credential in appropriate subject.

Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous college-level teaching experience.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS HOURLY RANGE: $41.28 - $72.27 (depending upon education and experience)

Part-time faculty members are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Part time teaching assignment(s). Candidates selected for employment will be required to provide verification of work authorization in the form of a passport, valid driver's license, or other equivalent identification, and social security card.
