Postdoctoral Position in Cancer Signaling and Structural Biology

Job Description


A post-doctoral position is available in Dr. Christopher Westlake’s laboratory, located in the Laboratory of Cell and Development Signaling, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health. Our group combines cell and developmental biological, biochemisty/proteomics, and genetics approaches to understand signaling regulation important in development and human disease. This individual will be working on “structure and function of proteins regulating primary cilium assembly in cancer and ciliopathy”. Our group has ongoing collaborations with intramural structural biologists and assured access to state-of-the art fluorescence microscopy (including live cell; spinning disk confocal and Elyra7 SIM2) and volume electron microscopy (FIB-SEM).

Qualifications:

The position is open to individuals with PhD and/or MD degrees with outstanding interpersonal/communication skills and work ethic. The successful applicant will be expected to lead their own projects as well as to contribute to collaborative research efforts in the laboratory. Candidates should have a strong interest in cancer cell signaling and trafficking. Extensive experience with recombinant protein expression and purification, and cell and molecular biology techniques is required.
