The Price Lab at UTD Center for Advanced Pain Studies seeks a Research Associate to work on NIH-funded projects examining factors that drive pain chronic pain in patients. The primary focus of this position will be computational neuroscience working with RNA sequencing data from human tissues. |
Minimum Education and Experience | Ph.D in a related field. |
Preferred Education and Experience | A Ph.D in neuroscience or pharmacology is preferred. Previous experience in pharmacology and/or physiology is required for the position. Previous experience in RNA sequencing data analysis is also required. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities | The postdoctoral fellow will work with human dorsal root ganglion from organ donors and surgical patients and also conduct experiments in mice and rats where necessary. There will be ample opportunity for training in RNA sequencing analysis and pharmacological techniques in human cells and in animals. The successful applicant will be expected to conduct experiments, write protocols and scientific papers and contribute to the training of undergraduate students working in our laboratory. |
