Primary Function of Organizational Unit
Research, Economic Development and Engagement (REDE) is responsible for research policy and integrity, research administration and contract negotiations across ECU for both the main campus and the health sciences campus. REDE directs new intellectual enterprises, including technology transfer. Industry, military and government agency research partnerships and community engagement and economic development activities across the eastern half of North Carolina are also managed by REDE. REDE is responsible for the following units under its umbrella: Office of Research Administration, Office of Human Subjects Protections, Office of Research Integrity & Compliance, Office of Research Development, Office of National Security & Industry Initiatives, Office of Economic & Community Engagement, Office of Innovation & New Ventures, Office of Continuing & Professional Education, Office of Licensing & Commercialization, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, Office of Undergraduate Research, and the Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee.
Job Duties
Day to day activities would include: scheduling meetings and confirming attendance, taking notes at specific meetings and then posting them in Teams, using PowerPoint and/or Captivate to update and/or create training in Cornerstone, managing research administration training completion using reports in Cornerstone and providing reports to management on past due training for employees across campus.
Minimum Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Familiarity with Excel, Smartsheet, PowerPoint and Captivate. Good technical skills.
License or Certification Required by the Department
