Conway Center Girls First Soccer Assistant Coach Job Description

Mission:

Job Overview:

The Conway Center Girls First Soccer Assistant coach is primarily responsible for assisting with coaching the Girls First soccer program, assisting with leading the Girls First leadership development program and helping with the transportation of our youth girls athletics players/teams to and from the Conway Center, schools, and/or their respective homes. This position works closely with and reports to the G1 Girls Program Manager. Specific afternoon and evening hours TBD and can change per season.

Reports to: G1 Girls Program Manager

Key Responsibilities & Competencies/Duties:

  • Assist Girls First Soccer Program Manager with setting up and leading team sports activities including all scheduled classes, practices and games.
  • Assist Girls First Soccer and Girls First Basketball Program Managers in the planning and leading of Girls First Leadership Development activities and events.
  • Lead special programs and activities as required.
  • Picking up, driving, and delivering Girls First (G1) Players to and from Conway Community Center as scheduled on a daily basis
  • On time, professionalism, and reliability are key consistent behaviors.
  • Attend all coach meetings.
  • Follow emergency procedures and complete accident reports as necessary.
  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship and lead by example among volunteers, team parents and participants to support the responsibilities of the officials and sports leadership.
  • Key priority is safe transportation of girls (and other youth)
  • Prepare and maintain required records and mileage books daily,
  • Maintaining the vehicle safe and clean, and reporting any accidents or vehicle breakdowns
  • Assist with monitoring Conway Dome facilities and front desk as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

  • Coaching experience at any level (preferably 1-2 years of exp)
  • Working knowledge of designated sport
  • Strong communication and mediation skills
  • Ability to support students with general social-emotional and safety needs
  • Availability of personal transportation required with valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and continuous insurance coverage.
  • Minimum age 21, a high school diploma
  • A polite and professional disposition.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour).
  • Pass van driving test
  • Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50).
  • Ability to maintain accurate accounting records and prepare detailed reports
  • Learn and adapt quickly, balance and prioritize multiple tasks, produce highly detailed work on a continuous basis and contribute to the team while completing work independently.
  • Willingness to traveling to multiple event locations and attendance at evening and weekend events, meetings and training as needed.

Other responsibilities include:

· Using navigation apps to determine the best route.

· Follow all driving and operating motor vehicle safety precautions.

· Assist GirlsFirst players with loading and unloading their athletic gears.

· Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
