The Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy at Cornell University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate. We are seeking an independent and highly motivated researcher with expertise and/or interests in public policy,  the intersections between research and policymaking, and equitable approaches to public/policy engagement. The Postdoc Associate will work closely with Dr. Jamila Michener, Senior Associate Dean of Public Engagement. The specific responsibilities of the postdoc will include (but are not limited to) designing, supporting, and implementing programs related to public engagement among researchers, undergraduates and graduate students. Collecting data and conducting research related to public engagement in the policy process. Supporting and facilitating engagement with state and local community partners. There is no teaching associated with the position, but the Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to be an active contributor to a wide range of activities at the Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy. The Postdoctoral Associate will also be given mentorship and dedicated time to pursue their own scholarship. 
Successful candidates will have a doctorate before starting the position. The fellowship has a 2-year term beginning as soon as January 2023. We especially welcome applicants with degrees in Public Policy or a related social science field. The most competitive candidates will have proficiency working collaboratively in multidisciplinary contexts. We strongly encourage underrepresented scholars who have been historically and structurally excluded from research and funding opportunities to apply. 
We will begin reviewing applications on November 15th, and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.  Complete applications include 1) a cover letter 2) a curriculum vitae 3) a writing sample 4) statement of contribution to diversity, equity and inclusion and 5) the names and contact information of two reference writers. The cover letter should include some perspective on the candidate’s past efforts and future plans related to public engagement. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue on a rolling basis until the position is filled. The salary for this position is highly competitive and commensurate with the experience required.
As part of the university's comprehensive vaccination program , all Cornell employees are required to have and provide proof of an FDA-or WHO-authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine and booster or have obtained a university-approved disability/medical or religious exemption, regardless of their role and work location.

New hires are required to provide documentation showing full vaccination status (that is, completion of two shots of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or one shot of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson) before their first day of work. If a new hire's vaccination is not complete or information is not received by their start date, the first day of work will be delayed. It is possible in some cases that an offer of employment may be withdrawn. New hires are also required to have and provide proof of their vaccine booster within 30 days of the start of their employment or within 30 days of eligibility for the vaccine booster.
