Postdoctoral Fellow- Robotics Institute
Job Description
We are seeking creative and energetic candidates with strong experience in robotics and machine learning for manipulation and professor for a one-year postdoctoral position. Using recent progress in machine learning and artificial intelligence, the successful candidate will have primary responsibility to develop, implement, and machine learning algorithms to perform robotic tasks in real world settings.
The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for all facets of the project, including papers writing and students mentoring. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record, demonstrating relevant skills and extensive experience in machine learning and robotics (e.g., manipulation, planning, and control). The candidate should be enthusiastic about collaborating with partners from multiple disciplines and institutions.
Job Functions:
- Primary responsibility for all facets of the project, including paper writing and student mentoring.
- Identifies problems and obstacles to progress; develops strategies to solve problems.
- May program software in support of job functions. Attends project meetings.

- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Uses a variety of software packages to input, manipulate, collect and record results or observations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in in robotics, computer vision, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a closely related field preferred.
Required Skillsets:
- Strong background in robotics, with specialization in one or more of the following areas: computer vision, supervised/unsupervised/self-supervised learning, deep learning.
- Research experience in multimodal robot manipulation, perception, machine learning and planning are encouraged.
Nice-to-have Skillsets:
- Very good presentation, communication, and organization skills.
- Publications in top machine learning and/or computer vision conferences and journals.
- Experience and/or enthusiasm for mentoring students.
- Experience analyzing questionnaires and surveys.
- Experience with grant proposal preparation and coordination.
