Position Overview
This position is mostly doing research with the objective to contribute to developing papers and grant applications. This position will answer to the Power Cybersecurity team through CSDS. We are developing power cybersecurity research.

Position Responsibilities


Key Accountability Research by:
Job Duties
  • Conducting research at a fundamental level on techniques to detect high impedance faults in power distribution systems, especially for cases with high penetration of inverter-based generation such as solar panels and batteries.
Key Accountability Presentation of Research Results by:
Job Duties
  • Documenting and analyzing research results
  • Preparing reports for research sponsor
  • Preparing and delivering presentations to project sponsor
  • Preparing conferences or journal papers for submission.
Key Accountability Supervision by:
Job Duties
  • Providing aid in the research training of undergraduate and graduate students by demonstrating methods and techniques of scientific research, including techniques involving software engineering, proper housekeeping, laboratory safety, recording of experiments in laboratory notebooks, and the development of observational and thought skills necessary for the mastery of the scientific method.
Key Accountability Other duties by:
Job Duties
  • Preparing and submitting research grant proposals for external funding with priority emphasis on obtaining sufficient funds for future self-funding of this position and support student researchers
  • Meet with program managers to discuss potential new research opportunities
  • Other duties in support of CSDS faculty and the CSDS mission

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
* 2 or more years of research experience in Electrical Engineering or related field
* Proficiency in power grids and an understanding of network security
Required Education
PH.D. in Electrical Computer Engineering
Required Licensures, Certifications or other
