Position Summary | The Department of Physics at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position. We seek to fill the position at the latest by September 10, 2023. We seek an individual with expertise in lattice QCD and its applications to Hadronic Physics. The successful applicant is expected to lead a research program in algorithmic research for lattice QCD, develop the corresponding software, as well as perform lattice QCD computations relevant to Hadronic Physics. The position is funded by the Department of Energy SciDAC-5 grant that supports research in lattice QCD applications to Hadronic Physics. It is co-directed by Prof. Kostas Orginos (Physics) and Prof. A. Stathopoulos (CS), and in close collaboration with the JLab Theory/High-performance-computing groups. |
Required Qualifications | A Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear or particle physics, or scientific computing and related fields. |
Preferred Qualifications | Experience in algorithms relevant to lattice QCD. |
