Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Grants Management , the Grants Compliance Specialist is responsible for pre and post planning for grant projects, and grant reporting.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements
  • Develops and administrates pre-award and post-award grant budgets in coordination with grant project managers; maintains and verifies grant statistical data or other fiscal funding records in connection with various grant activities
  • Monitors restricted funds reporting and project management reporting for OGDC key performance indicators
  • Audits Federal, State, and local grant documentation and folders within the grant tracking system for quality control and management of monthly overall grant report
  • Prepares and reviews grant time and effort to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations
  • Maintains and tracks all changes within the grant tracking system, in cooperation with TCC IT
  • Maintains time and effort for grant funded positions

Service Excellence
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College (TCC) Institute
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, creativity, and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values and 3 goals, and 8 principles of the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Director of Grants Management

Required Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree or 60 college/university hours and three (3) years working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and work-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience using Laserfiche or similar database
  • Experience working in a 2-year or 4-year college Federal funding system

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Federal Regulations Part 200 Uniform Administrative Requirements, cost principles, and audit requirements for Federal awards
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Skilled using grant database tracking and reporting applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software at the advanced level
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
