Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm


Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree. 


Additional Department Summary: The position involves research activities in the precision timing and frequency area. The selected postdoc will be directly working with the Principal Investigator, focusing on the novel methods and challenges in GNSS research and niche applications. The position can be extended up to a period of 3 years, on a yearly renewal basis based on the performance. The opportunities to attend conferences and build connections will be encouraged. This is an excellent merit opportunity to a postdoc who is looking to enhance his skills and experiences towards early academic career or to secure a job in PNT industry or an organization. The postdoc will have opportunities for collaborations with the industries and the PNT labs around the world.


Required Department Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must have completed a Ph.D. degree in physics or electrical/optical engineering, during or after 2018. Application shall include the CV, list of publications, statement of research, and arrange three letters of recommendations to be submitted directly, no later than November 15th 2022, or until the position is filled, whichever is earlier.


Skills and Knowledge: Programming and data acquisition in Matlab/Mathematica/LabVIEW/Python/Autocad/SolidWorks software. FPGA coding. GNSS methods. Experiments design, handling and data analyses. Knowledge of RF electronics, Optics and Opto-mechanics. Handling Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) and laser systems.


Preferred Qualifications: Background work and experiences in AMO physics, GNSS methods & timescales and/or atomic clocks is required.
