Postdoctoral Scholar - Teaching Fellow in the Department of Middle East Studies

Job Description


The Department of Middle East Studies at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles invites applications for a one-year Farhang Foundation Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship in Iranian Studies. Researchers with training in cultural studies, film, and literature are particularly encouraged to apply.

In addition to research, the successful candidate is expected to teach 3 courses per academic year and to participate in the intellectual life of the department and other units on campus.  This person will receive a stipend of $65,000 plus benefits. Applicants must have received their Ph.D. within the last five years or at the latest by August 16, 2023, the start date of the position. In addition to the letter of application, applicants should include their curriculum vitae, a writing sample, and sample syllabi (attach all as one PDF document during the application process). Three letters of reference will be asked of finalists. Review of applications will begin December 1, 2022; the position will remain open until filled.
