Job Summary

Employee will perform clerical duties under the supervision of the Assistant to the Vice President of Instructional Services, assist the Vice President of Instructional Services; and the President’s Office.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of general office equipment to include fax, scanner, copier, multi-line telephone, and typewriter
Ability to work unsupervised and multi-task
Proficient research capabilities
Excellent communication and public relations skills
Accuracy in daily work environment to include alphabetical filing
Proficient in current computer applications to include Microsoft, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

One year clerical experience in college office setting

Essential Functions

Perform general clerical duties including filing, copying, faxing, answering multi-line telephone, running errands on campus, and typing
Synchronizing calendars and assisting with setting up appointments for the Vice President of Instructional Services
Creating birthday cards for employees
Order toner and waste cartridges for copier in Pevehouse Administration Building, as well as copier and printer in Vice President of Instructional Services Office
Balance budget accounts
Keep policy book up to date
Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 20 pounds
The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
Use of manual dexterity
Work mostly performed indoors, some outdoor Midland College or community events may be required
The person in this position needs to occasionally move from office to other locations on or off-campus

All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.
