STEF inspires under-resourced kids to be active in mind and body so they gain the confidence and skills to achieve their dreams. Spend your time playing tennis, leading educational enrichment activities, and acting as a coach and mentor to our amazing scholar-athletes!

Essential Job Functions:

• Teach tennis to elementary aged children with patience, positivity, and encouragement.
• Work with lead coaches to plan and implement fun and educational lesson plans
• Monitor kids on field trips around Magnuson Park
• Attend weekly virtual check in meetings
• Assist with snack distribution
• Supervise participants and ensure their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, enjoyment, and general well-being.
• Problem-solve unexpected changes in activity plans, camper behavior, and participation as a team
• Retrieve and put away needed equipment from our shed before and after each session
• Be on time and prepared for each day of programming
• Participate fully as a member of the STEF team
• Other duties as identified

Qualifications:

• Minimum high school diploma.
• Passion for tennis, knowledge of the game; must enjoy playing and teaching tennis.
• Previous experience working or volunteering with children.
• Positive and patient attitude.
• Must complete NetGeneration Coaching / SafePlay training prior to start (about 2 hours)
• First Aid and CPR Certified

Dates:

• Start date: October
• Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (2-3 hours in person per day)
• Programming times vary between 2:15-6:30pm
• Part Time Position: 10-15 hours per week

Pay:

• $19-22/hour (pay based on experience)

• Programming conducted throughout Magnuson Park & Sand Point Elementary
