Do you love seeing events through from start to finish? ArtsQuest has many events, most notable, Musikfest, and many more year-round festivals and community programming? We are looking for someone that wants to combine their passion of events and planning at one of the premier locations in the Lehigh Valley. Our Events Manager will focus on identifying and pursuing events while supporting all areas of the Operations Department to ensure an exceptional customer experience and successful events.

What you’ll do:
While overseeing the execution of select festivals and events produced by ArtsQuest and supporting the team’s efforts on others when not serving as the project lead the Event Manager will also:

  • Manage select Bethlehem projects and Macungie events including Ice Skating at SteelStacks; all aspects of design, creation, content, layout, and execution of the event venue.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party vendors to support AQ produced events to keep expenses at a minimum.
  • Provide operational support and diagram development for the Sr. Director of Programming.
  • Offer operational support for AQ produced events managed by the Operations Specialist.
  • Direct volunteers/interns and Operations Assistants to their assigned work areas during festivals and events.
  • Provide information to Operation team regarding event logistics and programs of the organization.
  • Assist in the inventory management of operational assets.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate on external projects with the marketing, membership, sponsorship, and box office departments to ensure projects are being planned properly in advance.
  • Participate in event wrap up conversations to ensure we maintain accurate records of what went well and tweaks for subsequent events.
  • Manage the Operations Specialist and Part-Time Staff.
  • Duties will be set and determined by ArtsQuest and may be extended or curtailed at the Organization’s discretion.

What you need to thrive in this role:

Degree in Events or Sports Management preferred or equivalent related work experience.

  • Can cultivate the creative ideas of others, make connections between ideas and project potential outcomes.
  • Experience in project management and planning and executing large special events; the ability to design, implement and direct multiple projects, setting deadlines and ensuring program accountability.
  • Can problem solve, cultivate the creative ideas of others, make connections between ideas and project potential outcomes, and make recommendations for actions to be taken.
  • Ability to maintain and grow relationships while being self-motivated, energetic, organized, and adaptable
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills to exceed customer expectations
  • Ability to work flexible (and sometimes longer) hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, when necessary
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Valid PA Driver’s License and a clean driving record; ability to drive panel truck with either manual or automatic transmission.
  • Experience working in a non-profit environment, a plus!
