The Department of Biochemistry in the University of Vermont, Robert Larner, MD, College of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Instructor level. The successful applicant will be joining an expanding group of educators who are contributing to the momentum of our year-round teaching responsibilities in biochemistry. Experience with either laboratory or on-line education is helpful.
The applicant will be joining an expanding Department with over $35 million in external funding in the last four years. Education is a priority for the Department of Biochemistry and the recruited faculty member will participate in departmental responsibilities in undergraduate, graduate, and medical education. Mentorship will be provided and there is an expectation to proactively support diversity, equity, and inclusion. Service contributions at the departmental, institutional, and biomedical research community levels are expected.
The University is located in Burlington, Vermont, and enjoys a panoramic setting on the shores of Lake Champlain, between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Burlington, a city of 43,000 in a metropolitan area of 214,000, is often rated as one of the best small cities in America.
