Full Job Description

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning;
  • Teaching Experience;
  • Five years of senior-level academic administrative experience in higher education;
  • A record of collaboration
  • Successfully, pass a criminal history background check prior to employment.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning;
  • Community college teaching or senior administrative experience;
  • Experience as a faculty lead, department chair, or dean;
  • Experience working in unionized faculty environments;
  • Experience and leadership in serving, advocating for, collaborating with, and representing underrepresented and marginalized communities; and
  • Experience creating equitable, inclusive, and responsive academic programming.
 
Summary of Duties:
The provost serves as the chief academic and enrollment officer of the college, providing vision and leadership for the institution’s overall educational program. Reporting to the college president, the provost has primary leadership responsibilities for planning, implementing, and coordinating an effective and inclusive academic program. The provost works closely with academic deans, faculty, and other administrators to address educational policy, instructional planning, program review, assessment of student learning, accreditation and self-evaluation, academic personnel actions, resource planning, and allocation, and faculty development. The provost works collaboratively with faculty and staff in strengthening a culture committed to the success of all students, building a comprehensive system of Guided Pathways, enhancing transfer and workforce partnerships, supporting a broad range of student support and retention programs, implementing a strategic enrollment management plan, and promoting innovation and educational leadership. The provost also works with the president to provide overall leadership for the college’s enrollment, student success and engagement, retention, equity, diversity and inclusion, and Guided Pathways efforts.

 
The provost provides leadership over the following areas of the college:
  • Academic Divisions:
—Technical Programs
—General Education and Transfer Programs;
  • Enrollment Management/The Gateway (One-Stop Enrollment Management Center, including advising, admissions, and student records);
  • Library; and
  • Center for Student Success
