Job Description

Position Summary: This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction using integrative technologies. Faculty are expected to provide academic advising to students and participate in college, department and community activities related to the College’s mission. The Radiology Instructor works under the supervision of the Radiology Program Director and will be responsible for the effective communication of course related information to students, utilizing diverse and participative instructional strategies. Provide quality delivery of assigned courses using the appropriate method including teaching, tutoring, and lecturing. Create and utilize unit and daily lesson plans, inspire and motivate students by effective role modeling, demonstrate sensitivity to student needs, and identify appropriate resources to support student successes and achievement. Coordinate the recruitment of students and pre-radiology student advising.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach 28-32 hours per academic year via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned.

Teach evening, weekend, off-campus and distance-based courses as required.

Develop curriculum, evaluate and review of credit and non-credit courses.

Evaluate and monitor progress to achieve goals and objectives (and those by any licensing, registering or certifying agency as applicable); assist with affiliation and accreditation efforts.

Recruit and advise students and support persistence/progression through graduation.

Maintain office hours and availability to students.

Complete required College trainings.

Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines.

Attend college, department, and faculty meetings.

Serve on college and department committees.

Attend professional development activities.

Participate in community service.

Comply with all of the College’s and TBR’s policies and guidelines.

Plan, prepare, and deliver quality instruction in the classroom, laboratory, and in the online environment. Provide hands-on instruction of radiology equipment and procedures. Select and utilize a variety of course materials and teaching methods to ensure the needs of students in the program are met. Plan, oversee, and evaluate the activities of students.

Act as a student mentor by directing and supporting students as essential academic requirements are met. Motivate students by demonstrating sensitivity for their concerns and actively involving them in classroom discussions and/or activities. Maintain established office hours and be available to assist students, as necessary, outside of scheduled classroom time.

Provide radiology and pre-radiology students with academic support and advice and refer them for additional assistance as required; tutor as necessary and provide other assistance as required. Recruit and advise students interested in the radiology program; address student concerns regarding instruction and evaluation. Schedule and conduct regular radiology information sessions. Coordinate, schedule, and participate in annual pre-radiology student interviews and the selection process.

Manage and maintain confidential student and program records. Timely completion of official college records including mid-term and final grades for courses taught.

Assist the Program Director in curriculum development, evaluation, and review of credit courses.

Assist the Program Director with maintaining program accreditation through Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRC-ERT).

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Degree must be from a regionally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE). Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Radiographer. Holds American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) current registration in Radiography.

Preferred Qualifications: Collegiate level teaching experience. Supervisory or management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Proven educational or administrative experience in critical thinking, problem solving, and judgment skills. Effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Ability to succeed in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on quick responses times.

Pay Rate: 41,200.00 - 51,500.00 annual salary depending on experience
