Position Summary
One postdoctoral position available starting Nov 1st in the Materials for Water Treatment group at Central Michigan University. We are looking for enthusiastic scientists to work on developing nanomaterials for water filtration, including synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials, polymers, and membrane filtration studies. We are seeking talented individuals with experience demonstrated in at least one and preferably two of the following areas:
1. Synthesis and characterization of graphene and other nanostructural carbons.
2. Polymer synthesis and characterization
3. Water quality analysis (spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods)
4. Membrane and adsorption processes
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemistry or Material Science or Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering, received no later than 6 years before the initial appointment.
Experience demonstrated in at least one of the following areas:
1. Synthesis and characterization of graphene and other nanostructural carbons.
2. Polymer synthesis and characterization
3. Water quality analysis (spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods)
4. Membrane and adsorption processes
The ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience demonstrated in two of the above listed areas.

About the Department
The School of Engineering and Technology currently offers three ABET-accredited engineering programs in computer engineering (BSCE), electrical engineering (BSEE), and mechanical engineering (BSME), and is in process of starting the environmental engineering program. The School of Engineering and Technology presently has 26 full-time faculty members and also offers undergraduate majors in industrial, mechanical, and product design engineering technology. The School also has an MS in Engineering program.
