Community House is looking to fill the new position of Clinical Day Treatment Specialist.

Position: Clinical Day Treatment Specialist

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm or Tuesday -Friday 9am - 5pm

Job Summary:

Will work in a team environment to run all aspects of clinical day treatment program. This includes, but is not limited to; supportive listening for members, supervision of internal vocational training program, oversee daily meal preparation/service, accurate attendance tracking and daily clinical documentation, clinical group facilitation, facilitation of day treatment based activities, coordination of food bank program, medication monitoring, and actively participate with Clinical Day Treatment Coordinator in program development aspects.


Essential Job Duties:

1. Provide immediate crisis intervention and resolution as needed.

2. When necessary, supervise members taking medications, visually making sure they are taking correct doses at appropriate times.

3. Provide supportive, therapeutic environment for clients.

4. Provide a range of integrated and varied like skills training.

3. Maintain member and staff confidentiality at all times. 4. Have legible handwriting.

5. Be able to do simple mathematics.

6. Be able to read and comprehend agency/member charts.


Specific Clinical/Day Treatment Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Open Day Treatment.

2. Take attendance and complete daily clinical documentation.

3. Assist members in preparing and serving lunch.

4. Monitor pre-vocational program and pay members in accordance with agency policy.

5. Provision of therapeutic groups.

6. Provide opportunities for socialization and development of social skills for clients.

7. Provision of activities and groups that assists clients in development of adaptive coping skills.

8. Close up day program.

9. Balance house job money.

10. Attend weekly clinical meeting.

11. Attend administrative meetings and trainings.

12.Facilitate weekly member house meeting.

13.Coordinate monthly Birthday/Bingo activities

14.Assist with weekly food bank.

15.Order food and paper products per agency budget.

16.Attend monthly food meetings for City of Seattle grant and complete all necessary paperwork.

17.Keep food bank room(s) in clean and orderly.

18.Coordinate with food delivery people.

19.Coordinate use of laundry and shower facilities.

20.Coordinate hopelink rides and hopelink approvals.

21. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in social sciences, related degree.

Experience Required:

  • 2 years experience with mentally ill or related social service experience and/or ability to acquire specialized trainings to work with target population.

Skills Required: Ability to work independently and within a team. Ability to develop and lead therapeutic groups and activites.
