About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The candidate will be required to conduct research in the area of complex molecule synthesis for the purpose of medicinal chemistry studies.

JOB SUMMARY

The candidate will be need be asked to devise and execute novel multistep synthetic routes aimed at the synthesis of complex target molecules for medicinal chemistry studies. Expertise in multi-step synthesis of complex molecules will be required to conduct this research. In addition the candidate will be asked to assist in the supervision and training of students, and the preparation research proposals and publications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to experience in the area of multistep synthesis, a Ph.D. or equivalent degree is minimally required for this position. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Design novel synthetic routes to complex organic molecules. Preform synthetic organic reactions necessary to prepare complex organic molecules. Spectroscopically characterize the novel material prepared in the course of the research. Write publication quality experimental procedures. Assist in the preparation of research papers, presentations, grant proposals. The following synthetic organic chemistry skills will be needed:

  • NMR spectroscopy (1H and 13C)
  • Flash and preparative HPLC chromatography
  • Working collaboratively on research projects
