The purpose of this position is to perform a professional level of administrative duties in coordinating the daily operations for the Center for Adult and Family Literacy.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.- Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Liberal Arts, Education, Human Services, or related field and Master’s degree preferred. Three (3) years of full-time experience coordinating and/or managing programming in any one or more of the following areas:
- Adult Basic/Secondary education
- Workforce development
- Employment placement
- Adult Basic/Secondary Education Testing and Assessments
- Secondary and/or Post-Secondary Education
Adult literacy experience preferred. Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

- Coordinate a functional process within assigned College department or division.
- Implement department programs or initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
- Maintain department records and files, as required.
- Conduct and attend meetings, as required.
- Supervise, advise, and evaluate assigned staff, as required.
- Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested.
- Manage program expenses efficiently and economically.
- Identify access and analyze program data in the college’s Banner and Con Ed Supp system.
- Develop new courses and course series.
- Position Specific Essential Duties
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the college’s adult basic and secondary education classes that prepare students to take the GED® exams, for post-secondary education, and/or for training.
- Accurately forecast and track annual unit revenue and FTE generation.
- Develop and achieve personal goals and program performance goals that contribute to the unit and divisional goals and business plans.
- Assist in the budget process and monitoring of all ABE/ASE funding
- Recruit, select, supervise, and evaluate adjunct faculty, and part-time professionals.
- Represent and promote the college at affinity groups, professional and business associations, and at community and networking events.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of adjunct faculty professional development activities.
- Monitor and review intake and registration, assessments, attendance, and performance data collection for all ABE/ASE course offerings.
- Establish and monitor ABE/ASE program performance outcomes required by State funders.
- Focus on workforce development and career guidance in program areas with assigned placement performance metrics (i.e. WIOA eligible programs).
- Counsel and advise students.
- Manage supply of instructional material, student materials and equipment.
