Job Description


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1. Develop a strong record of research excellence in the areas listed above.
2. Work collaboratively with faculty in the Department of Economics.
3. Teach one principles of economics course per semester.
Typical Experience:
1. Stata or R, MATLAB or Mathematica, ArcGIS or QGIS.
2. Strong economic modeling skills.
Required Education or Training:

1. Ph.D. in Economics or closely related field.
2. Strong analytical, research, statistical, and quantitative skills.
3. Ability to write clearly, professionally, and persuasively.
4. Effective communication skills.
5. Evidence of potential for teaching success
6. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the department’s diversity initiatives.


Salary Information:

This is a full-time, term-funded, 9 month base assignment with 3 month contract extension (12 month), exempt position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . Salary will be $70,000 per year.

  • A writing sample demonstrating the ability to conduct high-quality economic research and communicate the results effectively.

  • A graduate school transcript (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).

  • Teaching evaluations.

  • Names and contact information of three references.

  • Applicants must also arrange for three signed letters of recommendation to be uploaded  through the Job Openings for Economists website (JOE site ). At least one letter of reference must attest to completion of PhD prior to start date (Fall 2023).
