Summary:
The Social and Behavioral Sciences department at Colorado Mesa University is seeking a Tenure Track, Assistant Professor of Psychology.  Colorado Mesa University is a state-funded, largely undergraduate institution that emphasizes quality teaching. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Courses will be taught via a combination of in-person, hybrid, and distance delivery modalities. While teaching will be the successful candidate’s primary responsibility, advising, service to the university, profession, community, and scholarship in the discipline are also expected. 
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following (other duties may be assigned):
 
 
Teaching core and elective undergraduate psychology courses, which may include the following topic areas: General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Counseling Processes &
 Techniques, Psychological Interviewing, Group Processes and Intro to Marriage and Family Counseling.
 
 Teaching in other areas of specialization within the psychology discipline will be considered, requisite with the candidate’s experience and expertise. 
 
 
The ability to teach in-person lecture format, as well as online. 
 
 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
 
Minimum Qualifications Required:  
• Ph.D. in Psychology or related field required. Psy. D. or ABD may be considered.
• Experience teaching undergraduate-level psychology courses.
• Experience with basic classroom technology.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
• Candidates that can demonstrate excellence in teaching the required courses for this position will be given preference.
• Candidates background in counseling, clinical or a related mental health field will also be given preference.
• Candidates who have supervised undergraduate research are desired.
• Candidates who have experience advising and mentoring students are desired.
• Experience with learning management systems, video conferencing software, and Microsoft Office Programs.
