Position Summary
The Department of Physics at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position that will begin August 10, 2023. We seek an individual with expertise in theoretical hadron spectroscopy to join the Nuclear and Hadronic Theory Group. The group, which currently consists of three faculty members as well as several postdoctoral fellows and PhD students, maintains a close relationship with the Theory Center at the nearby Jefferson Lab. The initial appointment is for two years, subject to acceptable performance, and may be extended further subject to performance and funding availability.
Required Qualifications
A Ph.D., from an accredited institution in theoretical physics or a closely related field is required at the time appointment begins (August 10, 2023).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience performing theoretical studies of hadron spectroscopy. Experience using lattice QCD as a technique for hadron physics.
