Job Profile Title

Administrative Coordinator

Job Description Summary

The Annenberg School for Communication is a unique place at Penn. Our students receive an education that encourages them to redefine what communication studies can do — and what media expertise entails in the real world. In addition, our faculty, scholars, and students produce rigorous multidisciplinary research that challenges and changes people's understanding of media institutions and their effects. Our staff support this work as part of an intimate environment, wherein faculty, students, staff, and scholars are one interactive community. As the smallest of Penn’s 12 schools, Annenberg staff enjoy a small-school environment along with the benefits of working for the larger institution. This, we think, makes us a truly distinctive employer at Penn.
The Center on Digital Culture and Society (CDCS) at the Annenberg School for Communication supports critical, interdisciplinary scholarship and dialogue on digital culture, technology, and society. CDCS aims to create collaborative spaces for discussion and debate among academics, citizens, and activists; develop critical approaches to the study of digital culture and technology; help train new generations of digital researchers at Penn and beyond; build global networks of researchers; advocate for socially just design, production, and use of digital technologies; and explore and foster new visions of digital futures through scholarship and public communication.

  • Manage the Center’s office space; respond to general inquiries about the Center, and work closely with Annenberg staff, students, and faculty on collaborative projects and CDCS-related matters, and with staff and faculty in the Department of Sociology as occasions arise.
