    Position description

The Physics Department at the University of California, Berkeley is conducting an open search to fill a tenure-track faculty position for an Assistant Professor in theoretical physics. This is a broad search for a theoretical physicist in quantum information and quantum many-body theory. The search is open to all theorists interested in quantum information and computation, as well as their connections to different subfields of physics, including condensed matter, high energy physics, AMO physics and quantum gravity.

Our department is committed to establishing a culture that nurtures the physics identity and removes barriers to entry in order to strengthen pathways into the field. To that end, we strive to work and learn together in an environment free of harassment, exploitation, or intimidation. Please visit UC Berkeley Physics' Diversity & Inclusion website for more information.

The department is committed to addressing the family needs of faculty, including dual career couples, single parents, and candidates who have had non-traditional career paths or who have taken time off for family reasons.
