Description:

The School of Pharmacy (SOP) at the University of Charleston (UC) is seeking a qualified individual to join the Department of Pharmaceutical & Administrative Sciences (DPAS) at the Assistant Professor level. The duties of the position include teaching pharmacology, pharmacogenomics, and other basic science courses in the PharmD program, serving in the SOP and other UC committees, establishing a research program and collaborating on various research activities within the department. The SOP fosters active participation of faculty, staff and students in an agenda of community outreach, advocacy, and activism as one of the hallmarks of the pharmacy program.  UCSOP offers a curriculum that seeks to develop pharmacy practitioners who can effectively communicate with diverse populations and work as an integral member of the healthcare delivery team.

This is a full – time position that reports to the Chair, Department of Pharmaceutical and Administrative Sciences. The start date is negotiable but not later than January 1, 2023.

Qualifications:

The candidate must hold a PhD degree in a relevant discipline such as pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology or a closely related field.  The candidate is preferred to have postdoctoral experience, pharmacy education background or a teaching certificate and a background in or related to pharmacy practice. Previous experience in teaching in a PharmD program is highly desirable. For consideration to this position, please submit a single pdf file including the following:
