Currently offering an undergraduate major and a minor in African American Studies, as well as an undergraduate minor and a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies, the Department fulfills an important academic mission for the University and has more than 5,000 students enrolled in its courses each year. The MA in Women’s Studies is a research program with more than 20 enrolled students, who upon graduation go on to attend top-tier Ph.D. programs, as well as programs in law and medicine, others work in the not-for-profit sector in fields related to Gender and Race Studies.
