Job Description


The Center for Behavioral Science Research (CBSR) at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Project Manager with a solid background in psychology, public health or a closely related field.

The Research project manager will work on a grant funded by the American Heart Association focusing on utilizing digital health technologies to motivate cessation of vaping among adolescents. The candidate will be responsible for the overall management and day-to-day coordination of the Vapechat trial, which entails developing a virtual reality intervention for adolescent vaping.

The primary responsibilities are:

  • to plan, manage, course correct and track all project activities and assure quality control for all operations and incoming data
  • create and modify assessments in RedCAP
  • oversee the recruitment and enrollment of study participants and achievement of recruitment and retention targets
  • the hiring, supervision and training of a Research assistant; participant tracking
  • assist with data cleaning
  • oversight of IRB and grant report submissions
  • monitoring industry partner invoices, organizing meetings
  • serving as primary liaison with our school partners and technology partners; and data management and reporting


Applicants should possess a Master's in psychology or related social science field plus one to three years of research experience as a project manager with supervisory responsibilities. The candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills, and a strong interest in the application of mobile technology to improve population health. Previous experience using mobile or electronic health for behavior change is preferred.

The candidate will join a growing dynamic group of health psychologists and behavioral medicine experts, research staff and postdoctoral associates working on several ongoing projects and will be afforded the opportunity for professional development.
