General Description / Primary Purpose | The University of North Florida seeks to attract an active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber, skilled in the scholarship of teaching, discovery, application and integration of knowledge in the area of Chemistry. UNF faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic excellence in all phases of instruction, research/scholarship/creative activity, and service. UNF is a Carnegie Community Engaged institution. This designation celebrates the University’s collaboration with community partners from the local to the global level. It reflects UNF’s mission to contribute to the public good and prepare educated, engaged citizens. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and service. A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or closely related field. Candidates would be expected to teach courses in their specialty (Organic Chemistry 1, 2) as well as other lower- and upper-level courses. Postdoctoral experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to quality instruction and to the development of an externally-funded research program and publications in peer-reviewed journals involving undergraduates. |
