Job Summary

The Post-Doctoral Writing Fellowship will provide one-to-one or small group writing consultations for the On-Campus Writing Lab, the renowned Purdue OWL, to campus writers, primarily undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty. Responsible for using a collaborative, dialogic approach. Consultations will focus on planning, drafting, revising, editing, self-assessing. Facilitate clients understanding of rhetorical, genre, language, and document conventions. Develop, facilitate, promote, and assess writing workshops, whether focused on general audiences, on a variety of common topics, or targeted to specific disciplines or courses. Fellows will also focus on research that furthers writing studies scholarship, whether in the context of writing centers, writing-enhanced curricula in the scholar's discipline, writing across communities, or other relevant writing studies foci.

Education

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must have received a Ph.D. or equivalent, between September 1, 2019, and December 31, 2022, in the humanities, social sciences, or education, with experience mentoring or teaching writing.

Application Procedure

Applications will just require submission of a CV and cover letter including short description of candidate’s research agenda around writings studies/writing center studies and experience mentoring writers at the undergraduate or graduate level. In addition, please submit a a writing sample of approximately 8-10K words, a diversity and inclusion statement and three letters of reference.
