Albany Technical College seeks a part-time Instructor for humanities. This position is based at the Dougherty Campus but also includes online instruction. The part-time humanities Instructor will be responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for this subject area.  Under general supervision, he/she will prepare lessons for classroom instruction and evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objective.  The Humanities Instructor must have computer skills and knowledge of online learning platforms, and must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.  He/she must be willing to work a flexible schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:  The candidate MUST possess a Master’s Degree in humanities, the teaching discipline, *OR* possess a Master’s Degree in a related field with a concentration in the teaching discipline with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:  Preference will be given to those candidates who possess a Master’s Degree in Humanities, *OR* possess a Master’s Degree in English with concentrations in the disciplines of literature, music appreciation, art appreciation/history, fine arts, or theatre *AND* have teaching experience, traditional and online.

Physical Demands: Work is typically performed in a classroom environment with intermittent sitting or walking in various settings.

Salary/Benefits: This is a part-time position and does not include insurance benefits; work hours will not exceed 29 per week.  Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.  Work schedule may include day, evening, and/or online courses, as assigned.
