JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida is seeking qualified applicants for a postdoctoral position with the UF Health Cancer Center (https://cancer.ufl.edu/). This is an exciting opportunity to join the Population and Data Science Group (PoDS) that fuels innovation and impact in cancer control and population-based research in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The UF Health Cancer Center is home to many leading cancer researchers in diverse fields.
We are seeking outstanding individuals focused on research related to cancer population sciences, including but not limited to the intersection of cancer and aging, data science, cancer early detection, cancer survivorship research, and health disparities. In addition to contributing to the ongoing epidemiologic and clinical research, the candidate will have the opportunity to explore own independent scientific interests and is expected to work toward developing a line of research in this area with an effort to obtain a career development award and/or other external funding to support an eventual faculty position.
EXPECTED SALARY:
$54,840 annually; commensurate with experience level and in accordance with current NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., DrPH, M.D., D.V.M., DDS etc.) in Epidemiology, Public Health or a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent scientific writing and strong oral communications skills
The ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and collegially with colleague
Experience in performing statistical analyses using SAS, R or STATA programming language
