Department Summary

Position Summary

The Postdoctoral Scholar will be responsible for conducting research and technical activities related to sponsored projects in Dr. Gardner's lab. This position will fabricate devices using two-photon lithography in the Gardner lab and also fabricate thin film devices using CAMCOR facilities; will test devices using a potentiostat and other diagnostic instruments; will collaborate on reporting findings and discoveries in written and verbal form; and will manage, maintain and provide technical expertise for Gardner lab equipment, protocols, and programs.

For the purpose of acquiring additional professional skills needed to pursue a career path in the chosen field, this position will have a formal mentor plan.


Minimum Requirements

• Ph.D. in a relevant physics or engineering field.
• Lab experience in micron-scale device fabrication and testing in a university setting.
• Strong academic record in a major field.


Professional Competencies

• Demonstrated strong written communications skills.


Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise with nanofabrication clean room equipment and facilities.
• Track record of success in device fabrication in industry or university.
