Position Summary

The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will perform computational research and software development to support research and development of new f-element separation methods supported by the Department of Energy. A Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, materials Science or closely related field and experience in computer programming is necessary. Experience with f-element chemistry, machine learning methods, computational modeling, and databases are highly desirable.

Essential Functions

  • Performs computational research to support research and development of new f-element separation methods
  • Supports development of the ESCALATE software for external users

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree/experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Experience in computer programming.
  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with f-element chemistry and/or separations
  • Experience with machine learning methods for chemistry
  • Experience with PostgreSQL object-relational database and Django web framework development
