Job Description

The NDAA is seeking an IT Solutions Consultant who will be responsible for understanding the business needs of the organization and working with them to implement IT solutions that will enable customers to achieve their organizational goals and objectives. While working as part of an Office of Information Technology (OIT) team, the IT Solutions consultant will work as an embedded member of the NDAA assisting with the technology decision-making and needs required to support the NDAA and its customers. The candidate will have the opportunity to support flagship NDAA events such as Reunion, Alumni Boards, and Football Fridays, help drive NDAA technology strategy and identify solutions, and support traditional technology areas such as desktop computing, software licensing, and meeting spaces.

This requires an IT Solutions Consultant to have a wide breadth of technical knowledge and understanding of the IT services that the OIT provides to its customers. In a fast-paced and ever-changing technological world, the IT consultant will have to stay on top of new technologies and the IT services the OIT provides. He/she will have to understand how these IT services can be used to address the customers’ needs, provide guidance and advice on the best IT services to use, and partner with the customer to implement and support these IT services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the internal consultant and interface between OIT and the NDAA Teams, helping point to solutions, contacts, and best practices to streamline the NDAA IT management and needs
  • Work as a senior member of the NDAA IT team, coordinating technology of the NDAA staff including budgeting, planning and executing hardware purchases, tracking, and management
  • Coordinate and track the licensing of the NDAA software and ensure compliance with University standards
  • Design, develop and implement processes to support the NDAA technology used to deliver events including registration and payments, seeking ways to leverage University-level processes and successfully deliver on behalf of the NDAA
  • Participate in NDAA events and activities such as Reunion, Football Fridays, Board Meetings and the annual Leadership Conference

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Management Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • Business Analysis and Quality Assurance background, including knowledge of QA standards and methodologies
  • Systems Development Life Cycle including requirements analysis, design, build, test and deploy
  • Project management experience in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
  • Continuous Improvement experience
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, strong written and oral communication skills, strong documentation skills, and strong customer service orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications that would be nice to have include:
- Project Management
- Lean Six Sigma
- Business Analysis
- Quality Assurance
