Who We Are:

Gift of Life Donor Program, the non-profit agency serving eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware. This role is based at Gift of Life Howie’s House (formerly Gift of Life Family House) which serves as a home away from home for transplant patients and their families by providing temporary, affordable lodging, meals, and supportive services to those who travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for transplant-related care. What We Want for a Development Associate:

Our ideal candidate has a minimum of two years of experience entering data and creating reports using Raiser’s Edge and loves working with it! Additionally, a minimum of an associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Additional experience desired would be non-profit, fundraising or a development environment.

Some additional requirements for the Development Associate role include:

  • Analytical ability to gather and summarize data and information
  • Ability to multitask projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail responding to various situations and independently undertake steps to solve any problems.
  • Knowledge of clerical, office administrative procedures as well as use and operation of standard office equipment
  • Flexible with the ability to prioritize daily activities and anticipate unexpected increases in workload
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including excel and outlook
  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written with attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, and meeting deadlines.

Some of what you’ll be doing as a Development Associate

  • Provide logistical and administrative support including for Gift of Life Howie’s House fundraising programs, campaigns, special events and marketing initiatives
  • Enters data and creates various reports using the Raiser’s Edge software program and maintains the contributor/donor information database.
  • Ensures complete, up-to-date, and accurate information through the routine use, review and updating of the database used to support various fundraising initiatives, development, and events.
  • Maintains and create reports from online payment pages
  • Work with finance and other colleagues to reconcile.
  • Mail correspondence to individuals and groups that have made monetary contributions to Gift of Life Howie’s House.
  • Notify appropriate individual or families of all contributions made on behalf of family member.
  • Answers inquiries regarding financial contributions and interacts effectively with contributors and the general public.
  • Maintain organization’s website by updating content, plug-ins, and applications. Work with 3rdparty vendor to support ongoing maintenance and upholding security measures. Produces website analytical reports.
  • Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and layout, making appropriate changes necessary to achieve accuracy and clarity. Assists with completion of various reports, proposals and grants.
  • Open, sort and distribute mail
  • Order, stock and maintain adequate inventory of office and related departmental supplies such as fundraising materials and House brochures.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of and replenish all information and fundraising supplies regularly.
  • Work with vendors to create and produce materials in cost-efficient manner.
  • Prepare, organize, and help facilitate mass mailings in conjunction with House activities.
  • Prepare, compile, and produce marketing and communication materials for House initiatives and programs, in conjunction with staff, committee members, consultants, vendors, volunteers, financial contributors and sponsors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour
