Overview

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and Deerfield Management have created the Center for Protein Degradation (CPD) at DFCI. The CPD has created a next-generation protein degrader and molecular glue platform to advance novel therapeutic modalities. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a newly founded research center that is pushing the boundaries of targeted protein degradation research and accelerating the translation of basic science into clinical solutions. The Center for Protein Degradation (CPD) is seeking a biologist/biochemist to join the Biochemistry and Structural Biology team. The individual will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to identify and characterize novel molecular glues and degraders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains cell culture and performs protein purifications
  • Conduct standardized biological or biochemical assays and laboratory analyses, eg. TR-FRET, FP, cell-based assays
  • Compiles and analyzes experimental data and interprets results to write summaries of findings for presentation of results to staff
  • Uses computers, computer-interfaced equipment, robotics or high-technology applications to perform work duties
  • Responsible for maintaining detailed notebook of all work-related activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required with a major in biology, biochemistry or chemical biology (preferred)
  • Knowledge of information and techniques related to either biology, biochemistry or chemical biology is preferred
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to keep accurate experimental records
  • Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems
  • Must have close attention to detail and good time management
  • Ability to work within a team environment
