Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.

Additional Department Summary: The Center for Advanced Vehicle Technology (CAVT) at the University of Alabama is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral position to support on-going research programs and the development of new courses in the area of battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and connected and automated driving technologies.

The College and/or CAVT will establish a series of structured merit-based evaluations. Initial appointments are for up to one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity. This position will work under the direction of Dr. Bharat Balasubramanian.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in a field of Engineering and some experience related to connected and automated vehicle applications.

Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Skills and Knowledge: Significant experience in connectivity-based automation, hybrid and battery electric powertrain controls, remote sensing for automated driving, and other autonomous driving related topics.

Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with battery elective vehicles and automated driving technologies and their classroom instruction.
