Full Job Description

Provide leadership for the development, coordination and implementation of college male minority mentoring program initiatives in an effort to provide intense mentoring and support to targeted populations.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree required from an accredited institution.

Previous experience in workforce development programs and student advising.

General knowledge of community college operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the Minority Male Mentor program.

Essential Duties

1. Plan, coordinate, and organize Minority Male Success activities.
2. Facilitate planning, organizing, and implementation of special events and assist the marketing committee as needed.
3. Plan and implement monthly program activities
4. Assist with the development and implementation of various interventions to assist students with removing barriers to completion.
5. Provide integrated and targeted supports and interventions for program participants
6. Aid student’s progress through collaborative efforts with other college resources that lead to valuable credentials, without unnecessary detours.
7. Assist students in making informed decisions which result in understanding the requirements and processes to succeed
8. Serve as the liaison to external community partners
9. Other duties as assigned by the VP of Student Services.

FLSA Non-Exempt Estimated Hours per Week 20 hours per week Range $15.00 - $20.00/hr. Based on the College’s salary plan and commensurate with education and relevant work experience.
