Postdoctoral Fellow - Magda Chrzanowska – Wodnicka’s Lab

We are seeking highly self-motivated candidates for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the laboratory of Dr. Magdalena Chrzanowska’s NIH-funded lab at the Blood Research Institute(BRI),Versiti .(https://www.versiti.org/research/directory/investigators/magdalena-chrzanowska-wodnicka-phd-faha) (https://www.versiti.org/research/blood-research-institute).

This lab studies molecular mechanisms of vascular homeostasis in health and disease. We use cell biology, biochemistry, transgenic mouse models as well as ‘omics’ and translational approaches to understand the functions of small GTPases in the cardiovascular system, with a particular emphasis on endothelial cell biology, normal and pathological angiogenesis and tumor microenvironment, and cardiac and vascular functions

Qualified applicants must be skilled in molecular & cellular biology methods, biochemistry and cell culture. Experience in microscopy and mouse physiology is an advantage. Candidates with a recent Ph.D. and an excellent publication record are welcome to apply. Applicants must be able to work independently, directly under Dr. Chrzanowska’s supervision, and in a team, and have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

The BRI is located adjacent to the Medical College of Wisconsin on the campus of the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center (MRMC), which is also home to Milwaukee’s major teaching hospitals, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (CHW) and Froedtert Hospital (FH).

The position offers a competitive salary and excellent training conditions in an NIH-funded laboratory, with access to state-of-the-art technologies and a collaborative environment and proximity to the basic science departments and the Cardiovascular Center of Medical College of Wisconsin on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center campus.
