Full Job Description

Position Classification: Full-Time Administration

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Education - Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business or a related field; Master's Degree in Education, Counseling, or Business related field preferred.
  • Experience - Five (5) years of academic administrative experience; or five (5) years managerial experience including one (1) year programming, special events planning or higher education experience; management and marketing experience required; grant writing and needs assessment experience preferred; academic recruitment and programming preferred; demonstrated experience attracting and retaining clients/students.
  • Skills - Demonstrated ability to organize and direct major work operations; knowledge of higher education policies and procedures; demonstrated supervisory skills and skills in marketing a major work operation; ability to coordinate special events; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to develop recruitment strategies with regional school districts and businesses.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsible for the management and administration of LCCC Wilkes-Barre Extension Center; including the surrounding geographic region; responsible for coordinating academic and corporate scheduling of facilities; coordinates marketing and sales efforts for the assigned center, surrounding region and other sites in cooperation with the College's Marketing Department; works closely with other college divisions and departments to assure that appropriate services are provided for the extension and off-campus students; represents the College to the community, including civic, business organizations and others to assess the needs for corporate programs; assists the Admissions Office with recruitment for credit programs; assists in the recruitment of adjunct faculty; trains the center staff for both credit and noncredit courses; assists in the development and implementation of the Center's "Business Plan"; develops and delivers noncredit courses in cooperation with Continuing Education; solicits area companies, agencies and institutions to generate noncredit/contract training; supervises staff, assigns work and work schedules, adjusts priorities, has final authority on approval/disapproval of leave, conducts performance evaluation of staff makes recommendations for hiring and/or termination and problem resolution.

Entry Salary: $59,843.81/annual

Standard Work Week: 35 Hours
