Post Doctoral Associate (Saurabh Lab)
Job Description
The Saurabh lab in the Chemistry Department of NYU is looking for a post-doctoral associate to perform interdisciplinary work on the study of bacterial organelles, with a focus on their constituting intrinsically disordered proteins.
As a newly minted lab, this is a unique opportunity for the candidate to work closely with the PI to shape and develop projects, with tremendous room for growth. The candidate will also help with mentorship and training of graduate and undergraduate students.
The terms of employment, which would be a year, with a possibility of renewal, include a competitive salary and other benefits (including access to subsidized NYU housing in NYC). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning September 30, 2022, and candidates will be considered until the position is filled. The candidate would be fully supported by current funding, and the start date could be immediate, if necessary.
Qualifications
Successful applicants will be highly motivated with an interest in working in Chemical Biology and must hold a Ph.D. degree in a related field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Biophysics). In particular, candidates with experience in protein biochemistry, single-molecule imaging, or structural biology would be well suited for this position. Work in enzymatic and microbiology assay design and/or analysis of large data sets is a plus.
