Job Description Summary
Operate communication systems, such as telephone, switchboard, chat or email. Answer incoming calls and contacts in a professional manner, providing information and/or directing to the proper department or individual.
Knowledge
Knowledge and professionalism when answering a telephone and directing calls to appropriate area. Knowledge of a switchboard and general telecommunications procedures. Knowledge on how to assist students, visitors, faculty, and staff who require information. Maintain a knowledge of the duties for various areas of the College to assist in directing callers to the proper area. Basic knowledge of desktop computers and office applications. Basic knowledge of telecommunications.
Skills
Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
Abilities
Ability to use a telephone and computer. Ability to work well with the public, including internal and external to the College. Must be able to work unsupervised.
Other Characteristics
Interpersonal skills to assist callers.
