What You'll Be Doing in the role of Program Manager
The Program Manager is a member of the Health Equity Initiatives (HEI) team within Komen's Mission division. The purpose of Komen's HEI is to advance health equity and improve breast cancer outcomes for historically marginalized and under-resourced communities deployed through research, education, community health, and public policy initiatives. The HEI team works to facilitate and integrate Komen's collective racial and health equity strategic initiatives across mission to deliver impactful and meaningful change. The primary focus for this position is addressing health inequities in the Black and Hispanic/Latina communities on a national level while also addressing the needs of other communities that have been historically marginalized and encounter inequities.
Under the supervision of the Sr. Director, the Program Manager will be responsible for integrating HEI programs across the organization and contributing expertise to developing, delivering, and coordinating new innovative key strategic initiatives within Komen. This role will also ensure ongoing tracking of HEI strategy progress and effectiveness and utilize data to address challenges. The Program Manager will have additional responsibilities that will be wide-ranging and evolve as Komen delivers on its mission to advance health equity nationally in breast cancer care.
What You Will Bring to the Table
Serve as subject matter expert for breast cancer disparities and the approaches that could advance health equity across population groups.
Track all HEI programs and initiatives across the organization for increased visibility, participation, and engagement and inclusion, using a cross-functional project management plan and tools like Asana to capture deadlines and deliverables to monitor and track progress.
Partner with others across the organization to support HEI strategic approaches deployed through research, education, community health and public policy initiatives.
Participate in identifying, creating, and implementing innovative HEI solutions using business understanding, research, and industry insights.
Schedule and facilitate regular team meetings to provide status reports to program stakeholders
Perform and oversee a broad range of administrative activities, including scheduling and meeting planning, document creation, and webinars, partner calls, and meetings; ensures tracking of project participation and meeting minutes; supports the response to project information requests from project partners, stakeholders, and the public.
Work collaboratively with the development teams to identify, cultivate, and secure funding for Komen's Health Equity Initiatives and ensure donor stewardship.
Prepare and make presentations on Komen's Health Equity Initiatives to garner interest and support from diverse stakeholders in varying settings, including the media, potential and current sponsors, donors, and internal staff
Collaborate with the evaluation team to Develop donor reports and other materials.
Promote an organizational culture that embraces diversity as a core value. Serves as a champion for scientific rigor, accountability, integrity, and transparency.

We Already Know You Will Also Have
In-depth knowledge of public health, social determinants of health, structural racism, and other systemic barriers that contribute to health inequities.
Demonstrated experience serving the Black and Hispanic/Latina communities.
Fluency in Spanish required.
Excellent writing, editing, verbal, and presentation skills
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, database programs, project management platforms (like Asana), Sharepoint
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with diverse personalities.
Ability and eagerness to work both independently and in a diverse team environment.
Work Experience: 5 – 7 years
Education: Master's Degree: (Public Health, Community Health, Health Sciences, Human Behavior)
Preferred experience includes:
Breast cancer programs, patient services, advocacy, research or other experience working in breast cancer.
In addition to the qualifications above the successful candidate should have: (Describe any specific licenses, certifications, languages, skills, etc. and whether they are required or preferred)
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) preferred but not required
Travel requirements required outside of your office will be less than 25%, depending on our business needs.
